POSITION OVERVIEW
Newton Falls Elementary is seeking dedicated, student-centered individuals to provide targeted academic support to students in kindergarten through fifth grade with identified learning needs. This summer enrichment program is designed to provide a well-rounded and robust experience for students, including hands-on learning opportunities, physical activities, and arts and crafts. The role focuses on supporting students with skill deficits, including those with Reading Improvement and Monitoring Plans (RIMPs), as well as third-grade students working to meet alternative assessment pathways for promotion. The ideal candidate will use data-driven practices, implement effective interventions, and collaborate with staff to promote student success.
PROGRAM DATES & TIMES
Program Schedule:
Monday through Thursday, June 8th•June 25th
Student Day:
9:00 AM•12:00 PM
Teacher Day:
8:30 AM•12:30 PM SALARY $40.00 per hour
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide targeted academic support to students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade who are identified with skill deficits Work closely with third-grade students needing to meet alternative assessment pathways for promotion Plan and implement appropriate, evidence-based instructional activities aligned to student needs Use student data to guide instruction and monitor progress toward goals Document student attendance and participation in intervention sessions Maintain accurate records of student progress and intervention outcomes Foster a structured, supportive learning environment that promotes student growth
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Ohio teaching license Strong understanding of literacy and math instruction and intervention practices Experience working with students in grades Kindergarten through fifth grade, particularly in reading and math intervention Ability to analyze student data and adjust instruction accordingly Strong communication and collaboration skills
