We are now extending these services to even younger learners and their grownups. Forge Education is looking for highly skilled early literacy specialists to lead playgroups. Our Pre-K Early Literacy Playgroups offer a fun and engaging opportunity for parents and caregivers to join their child in games, songs, and stories—while laying the foundation for a lifelong love of literacy. Responsibilities Collaborate with our team to refine and implement playgroup lessons that are grounded in the Science of Reading and developmentally appropriate for each age group (ages 2-3 and 3-5) Directly teach and model specific literacy skills to caregivers during playgroup Support caregivers in practicing the skills taught as they work with their own child during playgroup Collaborate with colleagues and caregivers to ensure a cohesive approach to student support Document student progress and notes including misconceptions and trouble spots Create website copy that summarizes skills taught each week with clear examples for caregivers to use at home Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education or Related Field Professional teaching license preferred Minimum of 2 years teaching experience In depth knowledge of the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy Extensive Training or Certification in the Orton Gillingham Method (or other OG based program) Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with playgroup participants, caregivers and colleagues
Pay:
$37.92 - $50.39 per hour
