Reading Specialist delivering targeted literacy instruction to elementary students, collaborating with teachers to improve reading outcomes, and documenting progress to support data‑driven interventions. Key Responsibilities:

Provide targeted reading instruction and literacy support to elementary students in a school setting. Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to develop and implement effective reading intervention plans. Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and instructional strategies used. Execute assessments to identify students' reading levels and learning needs. Support a positive, engaging learning environment conducive to literacy development.

Qualifications:

Valid Pennsylvania K-8 elementary education certificate, or ability to cover with a K-8 elementary education certificate if a reading specialist is not available. Related literacy certification. CPR and First Aid certifications (if required by district). Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in literacy instruction. At least 1 year of experience working with elementary students in a literacy or reading intervention role. Experience working in school settings. Familiarity with Common Core standards. Physical ability to perform classroom duties. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate with staff, students, and families.
