Primary Purpose:
Provide intervention support to students at a Title 1 campus who have academic deficits in the area of English Language Arts and Mathematics while providing instructional support to staff through training, coaching, and mentoring.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree preferred. 3 years of teaching experience in English Language Arts, Mathematics and/or Special Education A comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of curriculum, Tier 2 & 3 intervention for academic strategies, at-risk education, instructional technology, and Tier 1 highly effective teaching strategies. Demonstrate competency in the instruction of reading and/or math. Strong data analysis skill set, as well as strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide campus level staff development. Demonstrated expertise in teaching the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) Effective coaching, problem solving and conferencing skills. Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and learning. Demonstrated effectiveness as a professional role model. Demonstrated use of best teaching practices. Understanding of and ability to use teacher development research. A comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and staff development. A comprehensive understanding of differentiation strategies. Ability to use technology for management, productivity, and instruction. Strong organization, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills. 3 years of teaching experience in PreK-12 education
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Specific job duties will be determined by the campus's annual needs assessment. Job duties may vary from year to year depending on student needs. Provide direct instruction to Title 1 students identified as eligible for math, reading, and writing services in individual, and/or small group settings. Use identified needs to guide the learning process toward student achievement of district's content standards. Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects using formal and informal assessment data obtained from students. Assist in maintaining working files on students; monitors student progress and provides input on student performance. Use a variety of manipulative and hands-on activities to support content standards and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. Facilitate the implementation of new materials, methodologies, philosophies, and innovations using those, which meet the needs of students served. Facilitate planning and implementation of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and technology. Model effective teaching strategies with students and peers. Provide mentoring, coaching, and support for campus teachers. Conduct professional development to support the district instructional program. Collaborate with appropriate district staff to implement the guaranteed and viable curriculum. Monitor student achievement data and interpret, report, and act on results. Participate as a member of the campus intervention team. Responsibilities may include providing interventions in the campus implementation of RtI. Participate as a member of the campus assessment team. Responsibilities may include assisting in the coordination for the administration of state assessments. Provide mentoring, coaching and support for campus teachers. Keep abreast of current research in education through professional reading and participation in professional development. Perform other functions that may be assigned.

Maintain emotional control under stress, work with frequent interruptions. Repetitive hand motions and prolonged use of computer. Frequent, bending, pushing, twisting, pulling, and overhead reaching.
