We are seeking a Literacy Intervention Specialist who will work directly with students to improve reading proficiency while also partnering with teachers and campus leaders. The ideal candidate is an experienced literacy instructor who is committed to closing achievement gaps through structured literacy practices, personalized intervention, and student-centered support. This role is designed to ensure students receive targeted, high-quality instruction aligned to the Science of Reading, while collaborating with instructional teams to promote sustainable literacy practices campus-wide.WHY LA JOYA

Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree required; in Education, curriculum or related field Master's degree in reading preferred Texas Teacher Certification required Evidence of completion of the Texas Teacher Reading Academy or equivalent science of reading certification requiredExperience:
Minimum three years successful teaching experience required Demonstrated expertise in literacy instruction and coaching preferred Special Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of the science of reading and structured literacy practices Ability to model, coach, and facilitate professional learning for teachers Experience in data analysis and progress monitoring Familiarity with instructional frameworks, RTI/MTSS, and student support services Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skillsMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Student-Centered Literacy Support:
Work directly with small groups of students requiring literacy intervention Design and deliver Tier 2 and Tier 3 support aligned to district reading frameworks Use multisensory and differentiated strategies to support students' reading fluency, comprehension, and decoding Monitor and document individual student progress toward reading goals Assist with literacy assessments and data collection to inform instructional decisionsCollaborative Instructional Support:
Partner with classroom teachers to align student interventions with core instruction Collaborate with intervention teams to plan reading supports based on student data Support teachers with effective instructional strategies, but maintain a student-first focus Participate inRTI/MTSS
team meetings as neededProfessional Development and Campus Involvement:
Participate in and help lead campus-wide literacy initiatives Attend professional development to stay current on literacy research and practices Support family engagement activities related to reading and at-home literacyCompliance and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of student progress and support sessions Ensure all documentation aligns with district policies and student support requirements Follow confidentiality guidelines and FERPA requirements Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities NoneWORKING CONDITIONS
