Spectrum Academy is a premier Charter School that specializes in working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Approximately 80% of our student body receives Special Education services. Our classrooms are a hybrid of mainstream and resource models found at typical schools. Teachers at Spectrum Academy are required to have an IEP caseload and work with students who may or may not be receiving Special Education services. For more information visit our website at Essential Functions of the job: Functions Implement the assigned program of study. Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning. Utilize instructional management systems that increase student learning and maximizes time on task. Develop and implements Individual Education Programs (IEP's) in accordance with school policy. Monitor student progress towards achieving instructional objectives and goals on the IEPs. Communicate effectively within the educational community and with parents on a regular basis. Meet professional responsibilities. Maintain and upgrade professional skills. Maintain professional work habits. Promote and maintain positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships. Adhere to teacher code of conduct. Perform other job related duties as assigned by the Principal and the Academic Director.

Qualifications:

1. Active Utah Teaching License OR the willingness to obtain proper licensure. 2. Needs to know coding and appropriate software including Python.

Preferences :

1. Experience working with students on the autism spectrum. 2. DUAL Certification in Education and in Mild/Moderate Special Education.

Building Principal Salary Expectations:

Starting at $48, 216.00•; salary determined by experience and qualifications. •This position is also eligible for an additional $10,350.00 in educator salary adjustment pay. As of (dates pending but typically by middle of first term), qualified individuals must receive a satisfactory or higher job performance rating evaluation and have a valid, current state license per Utah Code 53F-2-405 to receive these funds.
