Job Description
Hartman Literacy and Learning Center:
Observe, coach, and instruct reading instructors in the summer program Maintain and submit accurate and current records concerning reading instructor and/or pre-service educator accountability, attendance, and performance Maintain regular communication with Marquette faculty and administrators about reading instructor and/or pre-service educator performance Demonstrate a student-oriented approach to education Uphold professional and ethical standards and adhere to University policies and procedures Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Masters Degree preferred or substantial progress toward the terminal degree. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a master's degree and Reading Teacher License (316). At least three years of K-12 teaching experience. Experience in supervision and coaching of teachers. Knowledge of content and skills required to teach courses in teacher education. Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to relate well with students and colleagues. Recent experience working in diverse, urban schools. Extensive and thorough knowledge of subject matter, including current instructional and assessment strategies and techniques. Current knowledge of and experience in teacher preparation and/or professional development. Demonstrated ability to work well with people, particularly university students, colleagues, administrators, and K-12 school personnel and students.
