Adjunct Faculty, Lecturer of Outdoor Recreation Part Time
JR100177 ANNOUNCMENT OF POSITION VACANCY ABOUT THIS POSITION
Summary:
Colorado Mesa University is seeking enthusiastic adjunct instructors to teach Outdoor Recreation Industry Studies (OREC) courses within the Kinesiology program. Our Outdoor Recreation curriculum emphasizes experiential learning in activities such as rock climbing, paddling, and backcountry skills, while promoting safety, leadership, and environmental stewardship. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other related duties may be assigned. Instruct Outdoor Recreation courses using hands-on, experiential methods Develop course materials, including syllabus and assessments Facilitate safe and inclusive outdoor field experiences Utilize the university's learning platform (D2L) to support instruction Evaluate student learning and provide timely feedback
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Outdoor Recreation, or related field, or equivalent experience (documented) Relevant certifications (e.g., WFR, IMGA, SPI, AIARE, and SWI) and 3-5 years of professional experience Demonstrated ability to lead outdoor activities safely and effectively
Salary:
$600-$850 per credit hour. Commensurate with education and experience. How to
