Primary Purpose:
Deliver high-quality instruction in mathematics and science to 4th grade students, ensuring measurable academic growth and mastery of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), with a strong focus on STAAR readiness and performance.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university Valid Texas Teaching Certificate (EC-6 Core Subjects or appropriate certification)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Deep understanding of 4th grade Math and Science TEKS Knowledge of STAAR standards, item types, and performance expectations Ability to analyze and respond to student data (benchmarks, CFAs, MAP, etc.) Strong classroom management and instructional delivery skills Experience with differentiated instruction and intervention strategies Proficiency with instructional technology and data platforms
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instruction & STAAR Alignment:
Plan and deliver TEKS-aligned lessons with clear objectives and measurable outcomes Implement rigorous, STAAR-aligned instruction including problem-solving, critical thinking, and constructed responses Use district curriculum resources, pacing guides, and assessments with fidelity Provide targeted small-group instruction and interventions based on student data
Data-Driven Instruction:
Analyze student performance data from benchmarks, common formative assessments (CFAs), and STAAR results Adjust instruction to address gaps and accelerate learning Track and monitor student progress toward grade-level proficiency
Classroom Environment:
Establish a structured, engaging, and academically focused classroom culture Maintain high expectations for student achievement and behavior Build positive relationships that support student motivation and success
Collaboration & PLC Expectations:
Actively participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) Collaborate with grade-level team, instructional coaches, and interventionists Contribute to lesson planning, data discussions, and instructional strategies Support vertical alignment and campus academic goals
Communication:
Maintain ongoing communication with parents regarding academic progress and support strategies Provide timely updates on interventions and student performance
Professional Responsibilities:
Attend and engage in required professional development and campus trainings Implement district and campus initiatives with fidelity Maintain accurate records and comply with district, state, and federal requirements
Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress Frequent standing, walking, and active classroom engagement Occasional lifting and carrying of materials
Additional Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned by the principal
  • Salary is commensurate with experience
  • Minimum Salary $66,000
  • Please note that this role requires in-person attendance and is not eligible for remote work.
