Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a certified, passionate and dynamic Upper School Science Teacher. In particular, expertise in Chemistry and/or Physical Science is preferred. This role offers an exciting opportunity to design engaging curricula, foster a vibrant classroom environment, and support students' academic growth. The ideal candidate will bring a vibrant Christian faith, strong background in science education, curriculum development, and innovative teaching methods to help students excel in their academic pursuits and develop essential communication skills. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet state standards and are aligned with the science curriculum. Partner with parents to promote the academic and Christian character development of each student. Create a safe and collaborative classroom environment that encourages student participation and mutual respect. Facilitate hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences that include laboratory experiments and demonstrations. Manage the science laboratory by ensuring the proper storage, maintenance, and inventory of all chemicals, equipment, and instructional materials. Design and administer assessments to evaluate student comprehension and progress. Utilize educational technology and digital tools to enhance instruction and student engagement. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Secondary Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Proven classroom management skills with experience teaching at the high school level in private or independent schools. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, and standardized testing strategies. Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—and organizational abilities for lesson planning and record keeping.
