Department/Organization 206601 - Info Systems/Statistics/Mgt Science Rank Instructor Position Summary Renewable contract instructor position in Management Information Systems. Teach at least 24 credit hours per year, conduct scholarly activities as appropriate to remain qualified in accordance with AACSB and perform service activities for department college and the University. Detailed Position Information The Department of Information Systems, Statistics, and Management Science invites applications for a renewable contract instructor position in Management Information Systems that starts August 16, 2026. (1) Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in software development, project management, systems analysis and design, AI-driven systems and applications, and the application of AI in business and information systems. (2) Guiding Capstone project teams. (3) Conducting scholarly activities as appropriate to remain in good standing in regard to AACSB qualifications. (4) Performing service activities for department, college, and the university. (5) Selected candidates will also be expected to immerse themselves in organizing MIS events such as Hackathons, UA innovate, and affinity group meetings with our industry partners. This position is a non-tenure earning position, renewable for three-year periods at the discretion of the University, with no expectation of continued employment beyond any three-year contract period. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and achievements. Prior to hiring, the candidate must successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation. Minimum Qualifications Either a Master's degree with at least 5 years of industry experience or a PhD with experience teaching MIS related courses. Preferred Qualifications Preferred candidates will have at least 10 years of relevant industry experience, including at least 5 years in software development, project management, or systems analysis and design; demonstrated experience using and building AI-enabled tools and applications; and the ability to partner with industry to inform curriculum development and support student internship and full-time placement.
