Description Reporting directly to the Program Director, the Supplemental Instructor works under the supervision of the Lead Instructor and is responsible for conducting training in various disciplines. The skills instructor is responsible for following curriculum and course materials, providing hands-on training and assisting with training demonstrations. This part-time position works with Faculty and may be asked to work non-traditional hours including nights and weekends. Typical Duties Carry out assigned responsibilities in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local statutes and the college's philosophies, policies, procedures and regulations. Perform teaching duties and work non-traditional hours, as needed. Remain current in practices, trends and research related to areas of specialization or assignment. Adhere to class schedules. Meet attendance standards and work additional hours, as needed. Maintain confidentiality relating to student matters. Be available for student interaction. Demonstrate a commitment to student academic success and adult learning concepts. Communicate effectively. Learn and correctly apply college policies and procedures. Qualifications Possession of a professional certification relevant to the subject matter being instructed. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the fire service. Certification as an NFPA Fire Instructor I or equivalent credential. A minimum of forty (40) documented instructional hours in the subject area(s) intended for instruction.
Note:
Instructors are required to maintain all credentials and submit to HR and Program Director to maintain up-to-date records while actively instructing. This position only requires the attachment of transcripts/credentials.? Application program will not permit submission until all required documents are attached. Evaluation of your qualifications to join our pool are based on the information in your application and your attached documents. Unless there is a specific and urgent need, Mohave College will NOT contact applicants when insufficient documentation is provided. Applicants qualified for the applicant pool will remain active for 12 months. Applicants not offered an assignment within the initial 12-month period will be removed from the pool, without exception, and will need to submit a completely new application, including transcripts/credentials, to be re-added to the pool.
