Grade Teacher:

Graduate of an accredited college or university. Possession of the appropriate Arizona Teacher Certification Unit Principal(s) Every student is assigned to him/her and instructional aide(s) if assigned.

GENERAL TEACHING DUTIES

INTELLECTUAL

DEVELOPMENT

Stimulates a desire to learn. Promotes critical thinking and fosters creativity.

PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Promotes physical and mental health in order to facilitate the learning processes and bring about maximum student development.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

Helps develop governing forces within students so that they may become constructive members of a free, democratic society.

CLASSROOM ORGANIZATION

Organizes the classroom to promote the maximum growth of the individual student.

TECHNIQUES OF INSTRUCTION

Provides for each student's interests, needs and abilities, applying instructional techniques which encourage learning commensurate with each student's potential.

EVALUATION OF STUDENT

Measures the development of each student and reports growth and achievement of each student.

PROFESSIONAL PREPARATION GROWTH AND ATTITUDES

Works for the improvement of the quality of teaching. Maintains ethical standards in professional relationships and works for the improvement of the profession.

SCHOOL-WIDE AND SYSTEM-WIDE EFFECTIVENESS

Helps maintain and improve the day-to-day operation of the school system.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

Promotes intelligent public understanding of the school in all aspects of its operation.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

EVALUATION:

Salary and work year according to the current teacher salary schedule. Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of Governing Board policy on evaluation of Certified Personnel.
