Full Job Description Job Title:
High School Science Teacher - Inspire Future Scientists and Innovators Join Escuela Popular, a vibrant and culturally rich bilingual charter school based in East San Jose, dedicated to empowering students through education and community. We believe in the power of bilingualism and culturally responsive teaching to foster academic excellence and personal growth. As a High School Science Teacher, you will play a critical role in cultivating scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and practical skills among our diverse student body. You will design and deliver rigorous, engaging, and standards-aligned science instruction that prepares students for college, careers, and lifelong learning. Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver comprehensive science curriculum for high school students that meets state standards and reflects cultural responsiveness. Implement inquiry-based and hands-on learning experiences to engage students in scientific concepts and practices. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, including English language learners. Create and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth. Collaborate with colleagues, families, and community partners to support student success. Participate in professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of instructional practices.
Requirements Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Science or Education. Valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Science. English Learner Authorization and/or Bilingual Authorization (BCLAD or equivalent) preferred. Experience teaching high school science, preferably in diverse or bilingual settings. Strong classroom management skills and commitment to culturally responsive pedagogy. Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
