10-month, full-time, exempt
Salary Information:
Salary will be based upon compensation guidelines; with a range of $58,916 - $87,651. This position is eligible for benefits (medical, dental, vision), generous PTO and holiday schedule, 401(k) savings plan with school match, higher education tuition reimbursement, and JSerra tuition discount of 50% off base tuition for each dependent child or legal guardian designated child who attends JSerra. Description:
Seeking a dynamic and dedicated Physic Teacher who is responsible for fostering a deep understanding of the physical laws of the universe. The while actively supporting the integral formation of students' faith, intellect, and character. The role involves planning and delivering high-quality, algebra and/or calculus-based physics curricula, design engaging laboratory experiments, and guiding students through critical thinking problem-solving processes. The ideal candidate inspires scientific curiosity and connects theoretical concepts to real-world engineering and technological applications. Qualified candidates would teach courses at the college preparatory and/or AP level. An interest in teaching college preparatory astronomy or college preparatory chemistry is also desirable. Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with departmental curriculum goals Assess, record, and maintain student progress through the school's online grading platform, Schoology Develop curriculum, teaching materials, and assessment strategies with fellow educators through PLC (professional learning community) meetings that are aligned with departmental curriculum goals Maintain a safe, respectful, and collaborative classroom and laboratory environment conducive to scientific inquiry and character development. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school training opportunities Supervise students outside the classroom as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong interpersonal skills, including writing, speaking, and presenting Familiarity with laboratory safety and the use of modern scientific equipment Ability to design and implement laboratory experiences that reinforce concepts Familiarity with instructional technology and data logger software (such as Vernier or Pasco) Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in a related field required Single-subject teaching credential or master's degree preferred Secondary classroom teaching experience preferred The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for this job.
