Experience 0 - 1 year SoundWaters Environmental Educators are responsible for delivery of science programs for students ranging from preschool through high school. Educators deliver information using an interactive pedagogy in the field and in a lab setting. Subject matter includes marine biology, climate science, and ecology, with an emphasis on Long Island Sound.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

Implement an effective educational experience for school groups ranging from preschool to high school, outdoors and indoors. Deliver instructional content clearly and in a manner understandable to a diverse audience of learners. Preparing and maintaining educational equipment. Maintain aquarium systems and the creatures that dwell in them. Support organizational special events. Adhere to all SoundWaters policies and procedures. Serve as a positive role model to students.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in education, science, or related field or equivalent experience. Able to teach and manage groups of up to 30 students. Able to be flexible and adaptable in a dynamic work environment. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Able to manage time well. Exemplary communication skills. Comfortable working outside in all weather. Comfortable working with and handling marine species. Must possess valid Driver's License. Others Duties as Assigned.
