Computer Science Teacher Madina Academy•3.7 Windsor, CT Job Details Part-time From $18 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Microsoft Word Google Docs Writing skills Microsoft Office Teaching Parent-teacher conferences (communication methods) Full Job Description Madina Academy is looking for a Computer Science teacher for grades K-9. This is a part time position. The ideal candidate should be able to teach the following subjects:
Microsoft Office:
Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher Google apps: Docs, Slides, Sheets Various programming languages: Python, Java (including preparing the 9th grade students to take the AP Java exam) Programming basics to younger students: Using various websites such as code.org, Scratch Teaching typing to students Basic mouse skills for younger students
Job Responsibilities:
•Create daily lesson plans and learning activities for students. Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction in the form of discussion, direct teaching, demonstrations and independent practice using a variety of proven methods. Differentiate lessons when needed to give all students access to the curriculum regardless of disability, instructional level, English proficiency or level of interest in the subject. Evaluate student performance on tasks. Maintain a safe, orderly and supportive classroom by modeling expected behavior and standards, promoting positive interactions and quickly addressing behaviors that are not in line with the school discipline plan. Communicate with parents regarding student progress, potential and behavior periodically through phone or electronic means and at parent and teacher conferences.
Position Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science education or another related field Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing The ideal candidate is outgoing, well organized, and is an individual who is eager to work in a highly dynamic, energetic school setting.
