Overview The Charter School of Wilmington is seeking an exceptional Integrated Science & Research Teacher who is excited to share our mission of engaging students in a world-class education that prepares them for college and beyond. As the Integrated Science Research Teacher, you will deliver high-quality instruction by implementing a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum. You will collaborate with teachers and instructional leaders to examine student learning, identify successes and opportunities for growth, and continually grow in your craft to ensure students fulfill their academic and personal potential. Key Responsibilities Execute a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum and adopt a data-driven approach in assessing students' progress Possess a relentless drive to develop your own instructional practice to sharpen your skills as an educator Exhibit strong self-awareness and reflection skills with a strong desire to continuously grow professionally and personally Possess a growth mindset and be quick to incorporate feedback into your daily practice Set and reach ambitious goals and demonstrate ability to thrive in a high-performing school environment Collaborate effectively within the department to align instruction, share best practices, and support student success Critical Experience and Qualifications 3+ years of teaching experience, with prior high school Science classroom teaching strongly preferred Understanding of high school science standards preferred Demonstrated experience closing student opportunity gaps Commitment and enthusiasm for working with a high-performing student population focused on implementing best practices related to community and cultural awareness Optimism, resilience, curiosity, and a strong passion for personal growth and student and teacher success Education Bachelor's Degree in secondary education with a concentration in science or Bachelor's Degree in science with education certification. Master's Degree preferred. Certification Requirements Hold or be eligible for Secondary Science Teacher certification. Details can be found here . Salary Salary will be computed in accordance with the experience and training of the individual selected and in accordance with the salary schedules for employees of The Charter School of Wilmington. Direct deposit of payroll checks is mandatory for state employment, and employees are paid on a lag pay schedule with the first payment made after approximately one month of employment. Notes A criminal background check, Delaware Child Protection Registry check, and tuberculin test are required. The candidate must demonstrate in the interview process an understanding of how varied student backgrounds and experiences can impact learning, along with the ability to support an inclusive and equitable classroom environment.
