Part Time Science Teacher

Duties Design and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating innovative instructional strategies and learning technology tools. Develop comprehensive lesson plans that incorporate hands-on experiments, dissection activities, and real-world applications of scientific concepts. Assess student progress through quizzes, standardized testing preparation, projects, and classroom participation, providing constructive feedback to support improvement. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment conducive to inquiry and collaboration. Mentor students individually or in small groups, offering tutoring and academic advising to enhance understanding of complex topics such as calculus, organic chemistry, genetics, and biochemistry. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and research initiatives to continuously improve teaching practices. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and assessments while ensuring compliance with educational policies and standards. Skills Strong knowledge of scientific disciplines including biology (cell biology, microbiology, molecular biology), chemistry (organic chemistry), physics (geometry, trigonometry, differential equations), and mathematics (algebra, discrete math). Proven experience in classroom management and behavior management techniques to foster an inclusive and respectful environment. Skilled in lesson planning, curriculum development, and instructional design tailored to diverse student needs. Proficient with learning technology platforms and library services to enhance instruction and research activities. Excellent communication skills for working with students, parents, colleagues, and administrative staff. Experience with standardized testing preparation, tutoring strategies, and educational research methodologies. Background in higher education teaching or private school experience is highly desirable. Familiarity with special education practices, Montessori or other alternative educational approaches is a plus.
