Job Description:
Position Description Secondary Science Teacher (6th-12th) Position Overview Colonial Christian School, a FACCS fully accredited school, is seeking to hire an enthusiastic Secondary Principal / Assistant Principal to join our dedicated team. Responsibilities Instruction and Curriculum Plan and deliver effective science lessons aligned with state standards and school curriculum. Teach core science subjects, which may include Life Science, Earth Science, Physical Science, and STEM-related topics. Integrate biblical worldview concepts into science instruction while encouraging critical thinking and scientific inquiry. Utilize a variety of teaching methods, laboratory activities, technology, and hands-on learning experiences. Assess student learning through quizzes, tests, projects, lab reports, and other formative and summative assessments. Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and administration. Classroom Management Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and Christ-centered classroom environment. Implement effective classroom management strategies that promote student engagement and responsibility. Foster a culture of kindness, integrity, and mutual respect among students. Spiritual Leadership Demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and model Christian character in all interactions. Lead students in prayer, devotions, and biblical discussions as appropriate. Encourage students' spiritual development through daily interactions and classroom instruction. Support the school's mission, statement of faith, and spiritual objectives. Professional Responsibilities Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required. Collaborate with colleagues to support student success and school improvement initiatives. Maintain professional relationships with students, parents, faculty, and staff. Fulfill duties such as supervision, chapel attendance, and extracurricular involvement as assigned. Qualifications A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university Highly developed oral & written communication skills Ability to build relationships effectively & professionally with families & students Physical ability to handle frequent sitting, standing, & moving throughout the classroom Active member of their church Compensation & Benefits Salary based on level of education & experience Tuition discount Retirement plan with employer contribution Employer paid Life & Disability insurance
