Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Secondary Science Teacher to inspire and educate students in the sciences at the secondary level. In this role, you will deliver engaging lessons that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for scientific discovery. You will develop curriculum plans aligned with educational standards, utilize innovative learning technologies, and support students' academic growth. Your enthusiasm for science and dedication to student success will help cultivate a stimulating classroom environment where learners thrive and explore the wonders of biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science. Duties Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans that adhere to curriculum standards and incorporate modern instructional strategies. Use Learning Management Systems (LMS) to organize coursework, assignments, assessments, and communicate with students and parents effectively. Develop engaging activities that promote hands-on learning, experimentation, and inquiry-based exploration in the sciences. Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of learners, including students with disabilities or special education requirements. Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques while fostering a positive learning environment. Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support growth. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and integrating learning technology tools to enhance science education. Skills Strong knowledge of science disciplines including biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science. Experience with curriculum development and instructional design tailored for secondary education levels. Proficiency in using LMS platforms and other learning technology tools to facilitate digital learning environments. Ability to work effectively with students of varying abilities, including those with disabilities or special education needs. Excellent communication skills for engaging students, parents, and colleagues in meaningful dialogue about student progress. Classroom management expertise to create an organized, respectful, and motivating environment conducive to learning. Familiarity with teaching physical education components related to science topics or health education is a plus. Prior experience in private or independent school settings is preferred; Montessori or early childhood education background is advantageous but not required. Demonstrated ability in literacy education, tutoring, behavior management, and academic advising to support student success across multiple domains.
