This role involves delivering engaging science instruction across multiple disciplines, fostering curiosity, developing students' critical thinking skills and discipling students into a growing relationship with Christ. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in scientific concepts, curriculum development, and innovative teaching methods to create an enriching learning experience. You will be instrumental in guiding students through complex scientific topics and how those topics enrich our faith, preparing them for higher education, and future careers in STEM fields. Duties Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating modern instructional techniques and learning technology tools. Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate hands-on laboratory experiments in subjects such as biology, chemistry, earth space science, anatomy and physiology. Develop assessments to evaluate student understanding through quizzes, tests, projects, and standardized exams while providing constructive feedback. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and collaboration. Mentor students academically and personally by providing guidance on research projects, college preparation, and career pathways in science-related fields. Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary curricula and participate in school-wide initiatives such as academic advising and education administration. Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and participation; utilize library services for research support; ensure compliance with educational standards and policies. Engage in ongoing professional development by attending workshops on instructional design, special education strategies, classroom management techniques, and research laboratory practices. Experience Prior experience teaching science at the high school or equivalent level within a private or independent school setting is highly preferred. Demonstrated expertise in science disciplines including biology, chemistry, anatomy & physiology and Earth Space science. Proven ability to develop curriculum content that integrates research laboratory experience with classroom instruction. Strong classroom management skills combined with effective communication skills to work with diverse student populations. Experience using learning technology platforms for lesson planning, virtual instruction, and student assessment. Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and tutoring strategies to support student achievement. Background in scientific research or laboratory work enhances the ability to provide real-world applications of scientific concepts.
