We are looking for an enthusiastic educator with a passion for scientific inquiry, innovation, and hands-on learning who is committed to preparing students to become critical thinkers, ethical problem-solvers, and informed contributors in an ever-evolving world.
Position:
Full-Time Science Instructor Responsibilities Deliver engaging and rigorous instruction in high school science courses, helping students develop scientific literacy, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Design lessons that promote inquiry-based learning, experimentation, and real-world application, connecting scientific concepts to contemporary issues and everyday life. Utilize pedagogical best practices such as Understanding by Design, Standards-Based Assessment, and project-based learning. Integrate classroom technology, including Canvas and our 1:1 iPad program, to enhance learning, collaboration, and assessment. Foster student curiosity through laboratory investigations, data analysis, scientific research, and collaborative learning experiences. Encourage meaningful discussion on the relationship between science, ethics, stewardship, and responsibility within local and global communities. Collaborate with colleagues across departments to strengthen cross-curricular connections in STEM, mathematics, and technology. Participate actively in the life of the school community through professional development, faculty collaboration, student mentorship, and extracurricular opportunities. Qualifications BA or MA in Science Education or a related scientific field (Master's degree preferred). Experience teaching high school science courses strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to make scientific concepts accessible, engaging, and relevant to high school students. Experience with laboratory instruction, educational technology integration, and curriculum design preferred. Ability to challenge students academically while fostering a supportive and engaging classroom environment.
