Youth/Academic Programs Manager MOSI's Summer Science Camps aim to spark curiosity and inspire a love of learning through creativity, imagination, and hands-on exploration. Our instructors are energetic, experienced, and passionate about creating engaging educational experiences for campers who have completed Pre-K through 11th grade. Camps cover a wide range of topics-from chemistry and robotics to marine biology-and take place in classroom, laboratory, and outdoor settings. Function :
Develop and deliver hands-on STEAM curriculum that encourages campers to learn, make, tinker, and explore.
Responsibilities :
Work collaboratively with MOSI staff and outside experts to design and deliver camp programs. Integrate science, technology, engineering, art, and math into age-appropriate activities. Develop curriculum that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific inquiry. Attend mandatory instructor training and orientation (May 16th). Greet families in a friendly, enthusiastic, and professional manner. Uphold and promote MOSI's mission and educational philosophy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred; an associate degree or 5 years of relevant experience may substitute. Florida teaching certification is a plus. Minimum two years of experience teaching children and creating lesson plans. Background or interest in science and/or technology. Dependable, flexible, and comfortable working in varied environments. Experience working with diverse groups of children. First Aid and/or CPR certification preferred. Must pass a Level II Background Screening through the Department of ChildrenFamilies.
Dates, Hours, and Locations:
Weekly camps run June 1 - August 7, 2026. Each week features new themes, new campers, and different teaching assignments.
Full-Day Camps:
8:30 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. (Completed K-11th Grade)
Half-Day Camps:
8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (Pre-K for ages 4-5)
Flexible Schedule:
Instructors may work most of the summer or select weeks. Must commit to full camp weeks, with a minimum of two weeks required.
Compensation:
Hours and rates of pay include preparation time. $700 per week for leading a full 5-day camp.
