Job Description

This job supports the instructional component of the school's mission to provide college courses leading to a degree or certificate. The Central Texas College instructor provides quality instruction and is committed to the personal development of each student. Adjunct (part-time), compensation based on course load and institutional pay schedule. Masters Degree from a nationally, regionally, or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education with a minimum of 18 graduate level semester hours in the computer science field .--Experience in post-secondary teaching is preferred. Demonstrated ability to teach subject matter through education, experience, and skills. Demonstrated written and oral communications skills. Commitment to working with diverse and under prepared student populations. Knowledge of LMS such as Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle, or D2

proficient with uploading materials, grading, running discussions Advanced computer skills, must be comfortable in using various software platforms including PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Prezi (with voiceovers or video) Ability to manage email and respond to emails in a timely manner. Ability to manage forums and discussion boards, manage assignments and be timely in grading. Meet all regularly scheduled classes on time and for the full class period. Demonstrate effective classroom management providing maximum opportunity for student progress. Demonstrate organization of materials presented in the classroom. Ensure that the general and specific objectives defined in the syllabus are accomplished. Utilize varied techniques of instruction. Prepare and administer examinations that cover all materials taught and provide prompt feedback on exam results. Ensure proper management and utilization of all instructional equipment, resources, and materials. Maintain accurate and complete records on each student. Participate in orientation meetings, staff development workshops, and faculty meetings relevant to assigned duties. Provide feedback to appropriate administrative staff for evaluation and revision of curriculum. Ensure Army Education Center policies are followed. Be supportive of college policies and philosophy. Represent the institution in a positive manner as indicated by dress, decorum, and attitude.
