Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the general direction of the Hoapili Principal Investigators, the ES 455C and ES 495 Instructor will provide the following: Co-teach ES 455C Topics inComparative Ethnic Conflict:
Hawaiian Sovereignty in Pacific Context to Native Hawaiian students in the NHSS sheltered field school program (Summer Session 1)Teach ES 495 Hawaii?s Labor History to Native Hawaiian students in the NHSS sheltered summer institute program.Incorporate traditional Hawaiian knowledge and texts into the curriculum.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Hawaiian Studies, Language, Political Science, Education, Ethnic Studies, or closely related fieldTeaching experience in college level coursesExperience in the field of Native Hawaiian or indigenous educationDemonstrated ability to present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing and verballyDesired Qualifications:
PhD in Political Science, Education or closely related fieldEvidence of ability to teach effectivelyAbility to teach Ethnic Studies while teaching toward the learning outcomes of ES 455C and ES 495 at UH ManoaFamiliarity with a range of perspectives and experiences of Native Hawaiian students in the social sciencesFamiliarity with institutional barriers for Native Hawaiian students in higher education and best practices for Native Hawaiian student successTo apply: Click on the "Apply" button on the top right corner of the screen to complete an application and attach required documents.Applicant must submit the following:
