The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment that encourages students to explore various aspects of family and consumer sciences, including nutrition, personal finance, and family dynamics. This full-time position requires a commitment to student development and the ability to engage students through innovative teaching methods. Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that meets state and national standards in family consumer science.
  • Create engaging lesson plans that incorporate hands-on activities and real-world applications.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and presentations.
  • Foster a classroom environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and collaboration.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in understanding the importance of family and consumer sciences in everyday life.

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in Family Consumer Sciences, Education, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification in Family Consumer Science, related area, or K-8 General Certification.
  • Strong understanding of family consumer science principles and best teaching practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Experience working with middle school students is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using technology and digital resources for teaching and learning.
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage with the school community.
