Step into a rewarding classroom environment as a Long-Term Substitute General Education Teacher, focusing on Computer Literacy for 6th-grade students. This contract role is based in a supportive junior high setting, where you'll engage small classes—less than 20 students—during the 2026-2027 academic year. What You'll Bring:
Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) Experience teaching computer science or technology-related courses Background in general education teaching within schools, ideally at the junior high or high school level Demonstrated consistency in prior roles and a strong commitment to students' success Student-centered approach, prioritizing engagement and growth over curriculum delivery alone
Your Key Responsibilities:
Teach computer literacy and technology concepts using current pedagogy, fostering practical and critical technology skills Create and maintain a welcoming classroom for a diverse group of junior high students, with class sizes under 20 Develop lesson plans that accommodate varied learning levels and styles Provide support, guidance, and meaningful feedback, helping students build confidence with technology Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to ensure a holistic learning environment Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievement This contract offers consistent work hours totaling 33.75 hours each week, allowing for direct, ongoing engagement with students on an onsite basis. You'll play a vital role in preparing young learners for future academic and technological success.
