QUALIFICATIONS

: Must hold a valid High School-level Indiana teaching license/certification in General Science Preference given to candidates with certification in multiple science disciplines

RESPONSIBILITIES

Create and maintain a classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning Establish clear expectations for student behavior in a climate of fairness and respect Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction that encourages problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs Collaborate with Science Department colleagues to design lessons aligned with Indiana State Standards and Employability Skills Standards Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for grades and attendance Use both formative and summative assessments to guide instruction Communicate effectively with parents, counselors, administration, and other stakeholders regarding student progress Integrate technology to enhance instruction and student learning Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and appropriate student supervision Participate in professional development opportunities Implement and adhere to Individual Education Plans (IEPs), 504 Plans, and Behavior Intervention Plans

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Seldom = Less than 25 % 2. Occasional = 26 to 50 % 3. Often = 51 to 75 % 4. Very Frequent = 76 % & above Ability to stand for extended periods of time. (4) Ability to lift 25 lbs. (1) Ability to carry 25 lbs.(2) Ability to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations. (4) Ability to see for the purpose of reading laws and codes, rules and policies and other printed matter. (4) Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels. (4) Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation. (4) Ability to operate office equipment. (4) Ability to reach in all directions. (4)
