Job Description

Join our vibrant educational community as a 3/4th Grade Science Teacher, where your passion for science and dedication to student growth will ignite curiosity and foster a love for learning. In this role, you will inspire middle school students by delivering engaging lessons that cover fundamental scientific concepts, from biology and chemistry to physics and earth sciences. Your energetic approach will help students develop critical thinking skills, scientific inquiry, and a solid understanding of key topics such as cell biology, genetics, organic chemistry, and mathematics applications like algebra and geometry. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment that encourages participation, collaboration, and curiosity. Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations; provide timely feedback to support individual growth. Incorporate research-based teaching methods and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs, including those of students requiring special education support. Mentor students by offering academic advising, tutoring sessions, and guidance on science research projects or laboratory work. Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and lesson plans; collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and instructional strategies. Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications in science disciplines such as biology, chemistry, or physics are preferred. Proven classroom experience working with middle school students in a private or public school setting. Strong knowledge of science subjects including cell biology, microbiology, genetics, organic chemistry, biochemistry, differential equations, discrete math, and molecular biology. Proficiency with learning technology tools such as digital labs, interactive whiteboards, educational software, and online research resources. Demonstrated expertise in lesson planning, curriculum development, laboratory management, and assessment design. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly and engagingly. Experience in classroom management techniques that foster an inclusive environment conducive to active learning. Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and instructional design tailored for diverse learners. Commitment to ongoing professional development through research activities or higher education teaching opportunities; experience mentoring or advising students is advantageous. $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
