Full Job Description Summary:
Dream Center Academy Christian School is searching for a special person to join our team and family in the role of Science Teacher. This person will instruct classrooms at each grade level between 1st and 12th grade in Science utilizing the schools online curriculum and other materials as needed. This allows each child to be instructed at their ability level and at their best pace. The teacher will be responsible to create lesson plans weekly to instruct the students in Science as a part of our well-rounded, comprehensive instructional program.
Primary Responsibilities:
Facilitate the students' interaction and progress with the online learning platform Supplement the online curriculum with activities, projects, discussions, lectures and other teaching activities Create instructional resources for use in classroom Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities Create positive educational climate for students to learn Work closely with students to make progress and reach school-wide performance goals Participate in ongoing training sessions, including professional developments, in- services Create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year Grade papers and return to students on a regular basis and perform other administrative duties as needed Read and stay abreast of current topics in education Utilize various curriculum resources and teaching styles and methods Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served Develop incentives to keep participants in class Develop professional relationships with other agencies and programs Utilize public library services Work with program coordinators to ensure initiatives are being met Tutor students on an individual basis, as needed & utilize peer instruction Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities Observe and evaluate student's performance Manage student behavior in the classroom Develop rapport with parents Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Science, Education or other related field Teaching certification/licensure preferred, but not required for the right candidate. Previous teaching experience (experience with multiple grade levels is a plus). Strong Christian faith and commitment to integrating biblical principles into education. Passion for working with students in an underserved community. Ability to inspire a love of learning and literacy in students of all ages.
