Aug 31, 2026 Job Description Ursuline Academy is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Chemistry Teacher to join our science faculty. This role is responsible for teaching Chemistry and AP Chemistry to students in grades 9-12, delivering rigorous and engaging instruction that emphasizes critical thinking, data analysis, and hands-on laboratory experiences. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic and collaborative educator who demonstrates high standards and flexibility, bringing strong content knowledge, a commitment to inclusive teaching practices, and a passion for supporting student growth both inside and outside the classroom. As part of a faith-based school community, this position requires a demonstrated commitment to supporting the mission and values of Ursuline Academy. In addition to classroom instruction, the teacher contributes to the broader life of the school through collaboration, student support, and participation in co-curricular and community activities. Key Responsibilities Instruction & Curriculum Delivery- Plan and deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in Chemistry and AP Chemistry
- Design lessons that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and data analysis
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including lab-based learning, demonstrations, and collaborative work
- Integrate engaging, relevant laboratory experiences that reinforce analytical thinking and real-world application
- Reflect on instructional practices and implement new pedagogical approaches to enhance student learning Student Learning & Support
- Provide timely, specific, and actionable feedback to support student growth
- Differentiate instruction and assessment to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Offer additional academic support and skill development to students as needed
- Foster a respectful, inclusive, and structured classroom environment Classroom Environment, Safety & Compliance
- Instruct and enforce proper laboratory safety protocols
- Support the maintenance and organization of laboratory materials and chemical inventory
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records Collaboration & School Responsibilities
- Collaborate with science faculty on curriculum development and departmental initiatives
- Communicate regularly with families and partner with student support teams to monitor progress
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
- Perform supervisory responsibilities (e.g., study hall, lunch, or other duties as assigned)
- Contribute to the broader school community through co-curricular involvement Qualifications Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field from an accredited institution required; advanced degree preferred
- 3+ years of high school teaching experience
- Proficiency with educational technology, including Google Workspace for Education Skills & Additional Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues to support a strong academic program
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment

- Successful completion of a background check Working Environment This position is based on campus and involves daily work in both classroom and laboratory settings.
Compensation:
$51,000- $90,000 annually This is a full-time, academic-year position (10 months).
