Located in Malden, Massachusetts, just minutes north of Boston, Mystic Valley is built on the belief that a first-rate education is the birthright of every child and that all students can achieve high levels when held to rigorous academic standards. Mystic Valley Regional Charter School is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable 712 Math & Physics Teacher to join our faculty. This position includes teaching a combination of upper-level mathematics and physics courses within a college preparatory, honors, and International Baccalaureate (IB) environment. Courses may include Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Statistics, and Physics.

Mystic Valleys mathematics program utilizes the Saxon Math curriculum, and teachers receive training in Saxon instructional methods. First-year teachers generally teach four sections with two to three course preparations. In the upper grades, students may participate in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, where coursework includes advanced topics such as vectors, probability, statistics, trigonometry, and calculus.

The physics component of the position includes both lecture and laboratory instruction for high school students. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of physics principles and the ability to present complex concepts in an engaging, accessible, and student-centered manner.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Teach mathematics and physics courses in Grades 712Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum goalsAnalyze student performance and adjust instruction to support student growthFoster a positive and structured classroom environment conducive to learningCommunicate effectively with students, parents, faculty, and administrationMaintain accurate records of attendance, grades, assessments, and student progressSupervise and assess laboratory activities and student courseworkParticipate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school committeesProvide additional academic support to students as neededAssist with duties such as study hall coverage, exam proctoring, and MCAS preparation classes
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in mathematics, Physics, Physical Science, Engineering, or a related fieldMassachusetts teaching license preferred, but not requiredPhysics MTEL preferredStrong content knowledge in mathematics and physicsExcellent communication and classroom management skillsNo prior teaching experience required
