Students in grades K12 adhere to a dress code and attend school for 200 instructional days each year. The school day is extended by 60 minutes beyond that of most traditional public schools. Job DescriptionThe Biology Teacher is responsible for delivering Mystic Valley Regional Charter Schools Biology program for students in Grades 712. Instruction is aligned with the Core Knowledge curriculum in both content and methodology. At the high school level, teachers may also have the opportunity to teach within the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) program, a globally recognized and rigorous course of study.
Job DescriptionThe Biology Teacher is responsible for delivering Mystic Valley Regional Charter Schools Biology program for students in Grades 712. Instruction is aligned with the Core Knowledge curriculum in both content and methodology. At the high school level, teachers may also have the opportunity to teach within the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) program, a globally recognized and rigorous course of study.
Responsibilities:
Implement the prescribed curriculum, including Core Knowledge and, where applicable, IB courseworkTeach five subject-area classes daily, each meeting every school dayDevelop and deliver lessons aligned to clear learning objectivesRegularly assess student progress and provide timely feedback, including progress reports and report cardsAdminister standardized assessments as directed by the Science Department Chair and Leadership TeamCollaborate weekly with Science Department colleagues on curriculum, instruction, assessment, and data analysisMaintain a structured classroom environment by consistently implementing the schools discipline modelParticipate in all staff meetings and professional development opportunitiesAdditional Responsibilities & Qualifications:
