Teaching Formats:

Day, evening, weekend, in person,hybrid, and online Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach the General Chemistry 1 and 2 lecture and lab courses using evidence-based teaching practices
• Remain current on effective teaching and learning practices that promote equity and inclusion in science
• Teach other courses such as, but not limited to, Che 011.
• Collaboratively and independently develop accessible course materials and curriculum
• Serve on department and institutional committees
• Accept any special assignments that further the mission of AACC
• Availability to teach evenings and/or weekends as needed

Required Qualifications:

• Master's degree in chemistry or field that is represented in foundational chemistry courses with at least 18 hours of graduate courses in areas related to chemistry
• Demonstrated experience teaching college-level introductory chemistry courses
• Demonstrated experience with teamwork/collaboration in teaching and/or course development
• Ability to deliver required, predefined course curriculum while incorporating individual knowledge and experiences to engage students and make the course relevant.
• Experience teaching with learning management systems and electronic textbook resources

Preferred Qualifications:

• Expertise in evidence-based pedagogy and classroom management techniques designed to maximize student success
• Experience teaching community college introductory chemistry courses
• Expertise with LMS and best practices for design of on-line components of a course.
• Experience with curriculum development for face-to-face and/or online chemistry courses that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism.
• Demonstrated ability to create accessible course materials
