The successful candidate will teach introductory science courses and laboratories in support of the College's General Education curriculum and first-year programming. Teaching assignments will be determined based on the candidate's specialization. The College seeks an educator who is committed to excellent undergraduate teaching, maintains high academic standards and communicates effectively with students.
Responsibilities The successful candidate will:
Teach assigned science courses and laboratories in the College's Block program Prepare and deliver effective instruction that promotes student learning and scientific literacy Maintain regular communication with students and provide timely feedback on assignments Evaluate student work and submit grades in accordance with College policies and deadlines Coordinate with faculty colleagues regarding curriculum, laboratory activities, and course outcomes Participate in departmental and institutional meetings as appropriate Support student success through academic alerts and other retention initiatives
Qualifications Required:
Master's degree in a scientific discipline, science education, or a closely related field Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate students effectively, especially in Block formats Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Ability to teach laboratory-based science courses
Preferred:
