Job Description

Job Purpose:
The Computer Science Teacher at Summit Christian Academy is responsible for equipping students with foundational and advanced technology skills within a Christ-centered learning environment. This includes instruction in computer science concepts, digital literacy, Microsoft Office applications, and graphic design, while also fostering students' spiritual growth and character development.
Key Responsibilities:
Integrate Biblical principles into all aspects of teaching, modeling a consistent Christian walk in attitude, speech, and actions. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans in computer science, including topics such as programming, digital citizenship, and technology applications. Provide direct instruction in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related tools), ensuring students gain practical, real-world skills. Teach graphic design principles using industry-relevant tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or similar platforms), encouraging creativity and visual communication skills. Foster problem-solving and responsible technology use. Maintain a structured, positive, and Christ-centered classroom environment conducive to learning. Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback to students and parents. Stay current with emerging technologies and integrate them into the curriculum when appropriate. Collaborate with faculty and administration to support school-wide initiatives and interdisciplinary learning. Model and promote digital responsibility, ethics, and online safety from a Biblical perspective. Participate in school events, professional development, and spiritual life activities.
