JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Provide lecture and lab-based instruction in undergraduate biological science coursework. Instructional preparation will include setting up and maintaining the laboratory space (e.g., preparing reagents, setting up equipment, cleaning glassware, ordering supplies, preparing instructional handouts and laboratory protocols, etc.).
  • Be a competent scholar in the area of instruction by continually improving relevant skills and knowledge, including following college professional development requirements.
  • Must be willing to teach day, evening, and summer courses (with possible online/hybrid opportunities) using lecture, lab, hands-on demonstration, and other methods of instructional delivery, including meeting with students during posted office hours.
  • Prepare reports, charts, and other student performance and attendance records in accordance with college requirements.
  • Serve as an academic advisor in accordance with college advisement policies.
  • Participate in outreach and other recruitment activities to sustain and increase the number of students pursuing STEM-related careers.
  • Be an active participant in campus activities that enrich the collegiate atmosphere.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 30 graduate hours in biological sciences. Additional graduate hours and teaching experience will be considered, as well as experience with instructional software and online instruction.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 30+ graduate hours and/or a doctorate in biological sciences from an accredited college or university. Additional graduate hours and teaching experience will be considered, as well as experience with instructional software and online instruction.
