Job Description

Central Piedmont Community College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach BioWork courses within the Continuing Education Biotechnology/Biomanufacturing program. This role supports workforce development by preparing students for entry-level careers in pharmaceutical and biomanufacturing environments. The Adjunct Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, supporting student success, and maintaining alignment with industry standards, including current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). The instructor will collaborate with program leadership and industry partners to ensure training remains relevant, rigorous, and responsive to regional workforce needs. 1. Deliver engaging, competency-based instruction in BioWork and related biomanufacturing topics 2. Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and hands-on training aligned with course outcomes 3. Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and assessments 4. Foster a safe, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment 5. Integrate current industry practices, including cGMP, cleanroom procedures, and aseptic techniques 6. Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and instructional technologies to support diverse learners 7. Maintain compliance with college policies, accreditation standards, and safety protocols 8. Collaborate with program leadership to support curriculum updates and workforce alignment 9. Participate in required trainings, meetings, and professional development opportunities
  • Associate's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biomanufacturing environments operating under cGMP, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field
  • Prior teaching, training, or workforce development experience
  • Experience delivering hands-on laboratory or cleanroom-based instruction
  • BioWork Certificate
