Science Teacher - County Durham Secondary School September 2026 | Long-Term Supply | MPS/UPS £32,916 - £51,048 Teaching Personnel is recruiting an experienced Science Teacher for a long-term supply position at a secondary school in County Durham, with a September 2026 start. Applications are welcome from specialists across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Particularly strong applications will come from Science Teachers who have experience delivering beyond their core specialism. If you teach two or more sciences, or have covered Maths or other subjects at any point in your career, we'd love to hear from you. What you'll be doing: Planning and delivering Science lessons across KS3 and KS4 Teaching confidently across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics Assessing student progress and adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and classroom management Contributing to departmental planning and whole-school events Upholding the school's safeguarding responsibilities To be considered: QTS or equivalent — essential A degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related science discipline Proven experience teaching Science at secondary level — essential Confidence teaching across all three sciences Experience teaching additional subjects such as Maths is highly desirable Enhanced DBS on the Update Service Teaching Personnel offers: MPS/UPS salary — £32,916 to £51,048 depending on experience Weekly pay via PAYE Dedicated consultant support Free CPD and professional development Opportunities for permanent employment
