Job Description
Alpha Academy seeks Computer Technology Teacher to teach in Fayetteville, NC. Must have Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree and must hold or be eligible to hold a NC teaching license in Information Technology. Employment will require a background check. Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Computer Technology Teacher to inspire students in exploring the exciting world of technology. In this role, you will deliver engaging lessons that foster digital literacy, coding skills, and an understanding of learning technologies. Your enthusiasm for education and technology will help students develop essential skills for the digital age, while creating a supportive environment that encourages curiosity and innovation. Duties Develop comprehensive curriculum plans that integrate computer science, digital literacy, and learning technology tools aligned with educational standards. Deliver engaging lessons on topics such as coding, hardware, software applications, internet safety, and digital citizenship. Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) to organize coursework, track student progress, and facilitate online learning activities. Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with disabilities or special education requirements. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques. Assess student understanding through standardized testing, projects, and formative assessments; provide constructive feedback to support growth. Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary lessons that incorporate literacy education, math skills, and critical thinking. Incorporate innovative learning technology tools to enhance engagement and facilitate hands-on experiences in computer science concepts. Support students' social-emotional development by creating an inclusive environment that promotes respect and collaboration. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and lesson plans; communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress. Experience Prior classroom experience teaching computer technology or related subjects in a school setting is essential. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development tailored to various age groups and learning styles. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education environments is highly desirable. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Google Classroom or Canvas to organize coursework and assessments. Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices for engaging young learners in STEM topics. Proven ability to manage classrooms effectively while fostering a positive learning environment through classroom management skills. Strong communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, students, parents, and support staff. Experience integrating learning technology into lesson plans to improve student engagement and understanding. Private school or Montessori teaching experience is a plus; familiarity with literacy education, math instruction, tutoring techniques, and library services can enhance your effectiveness as a teacher.
