Position Description This position is responsible for the providing effective instruction for the Sonography curriculum. Responsibilities and Duties (•Essential Functions) Provides didactic and/or clinical instruction as assigned by the program director Maintains accurate course documentation and scholastic records of students enrolled in classes and submits required reports to the Program Director and to the registrar Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner Selects learning experiences that facilitate the student attainment of course student learning outcomes Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment Grades and returns student work in a timely manner Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course Organizes and maintains laboratory including physical facilities, equipment, and materials in a clean, neat, operating condition, when applicable Maintains current certifications/license/credentials to practice in their profession Utilizes a variety of instructional evaluation methods considering learning styles and teaching/learning theory Supervises and evaluates student clinical/lab performance Maintains current knowledge of program policies, procedures and student progress. Maintains confidentiality of student records and grades
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning Good organizational skills Innovative, creative, motivated and work well with others Able to maintain records accurately and able to meet deadlines consistently Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrate resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential
Minimum Requirements:
Associate's' degree Appropriate credential(s) specific to the concentrations offered Two years full-time professional experience as a general sonographer (AB,OB/GYN) Must be credentialed in Sonography by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
Preferences:
Bachelors Degree Five years of experience as a Sonography technologist Teaching experience in imaging or other related area As an equal employment opportunity employer, Wake Tech values our workforce.
