QUALIFICATIONS
Valid New Jersey School Secondary Teacher Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility with Science endorsement(s) or Equivalent. Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Demonstrated office technology software skills including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and other cloud-based software. Pass a Criminal History Review under the provision of P.L. 1986, C116, and
P.L. 2018
Chapter 5. Pass a Criminal History Review and Clearance under the guidelines of the Camden County Department of Corrections and the New Jersey Youth Justice Commission. Pass a physical examination in accordance with statute and board policy, NJSA 18
A:
16-2. Proof of U. S. citizenship or resident alien status. New Jersey Resident per Jersey First Act, N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70). Such additions and alternative experiences to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

PERFORMANCE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reports to work on time, consistent with work schedule and departmental requirements, and follows all daily reporting procedures. Remains on duty until all open, critical, time sensitive issues are resolved, or communicates those open issues consistently and regularly throughout the day with department staff or supervisor. Attends all departmental and ad-hoc meetings, professional development, etc. Completes all mandatory trainings. Assists and collaborates with staff and administration in planning and problem solving for all aspects of operations. Maintains ethical and professional behavior, provides excellent customer service, and collaborates in problem solving stakeholder inquiries. Performs any duties associated with a designation of Essential Employee, including during public health emergencies or other unanticipated events where outside agencies and entities such as federal, state, or local governments, departments of health, etc., mandate operational changes that impact CCESC operations. Understands the central concepts, tools of inquiry, and structures of the discipline(s) he or she teaches and designs and implements developmentally appropriate and challenging learning experiences that make the discipline accessible and meaningful for learners to assure mastery of the content. Takes into account individual learners' strengths, interest and needs and adapts lessons accordingly to meet the learning needs of all students. Designs, adapts, and delivers developmentally appropriate instruction which aligns with the approved curriculum and promotes critical thinking and problem solving. Collaborates with learners, families, and colleagues to create environments that support individual and collaborative learning, and that encourage positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation. Contributes to, implements, and supports students' service plans meeting rigorous learning goals by drawing upon knowledge of content areas, curriculum, cross-disciplinary skills, and pedagogy, as well as knowledge of learners and the community context. Understands and uses multiple methods of assessment to engage learners in their own growth, to monitor learner progress, to design and modify instruction to meet learners' needs in each area of development. Assesses student progress on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required. Submits lesson plans weekly. Submits billed educational services documentation daily. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior and creates a supportive, safe, and respectful classroom environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement in learning and self-motivation. Engages in ongoing professional learning and uses evidence to continually evaluate his/her practice, particularly the effects of his/her choices and actions on others (learners, families, other professionals, and the community), and adapts practice to meet the needs of each learner. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. In addition to the above, follows the guidelines, security procedures, directives, and requirements of the Camden County Juvenile Detention Center Department of Corrections. Performs all other duties as assigned by the department leader, supervisor, business administrator, superintendent, or designee.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Twelve-month work year as determined by the Board of Directors. Work schedule, assignment, and compensation to be established by the Board of Directors where applicable. For certificated professionals included in the Article of Recognition in the agreement between the CCESC and CCESEA, terms will be in accordance with the current negotiated agreement.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of state law, administrative code, and Board policy, and where applicable, with the current negotiated agreement between the CCESC and the
