Raritan Valley Community College's Science & Engineering department is seeking qualified adjunct faculty members who are committed to providing the best quality education possible to our students. Specifically, the college is seeking candidates interested in being adjunct faculty with expertise in the following areas: Anatomy & Physiology
  • The purpose of this course is to provide an introductory study of the structure and function of the human body. The course content highlights the chemical, cellular, and tissue levels of organization, and the anatomy and physiology of the body systems. Human Biology
  • This course is an introductory study of the human body and the scientific method as it applies to human health. Emphasis will be placed on the diversity of the human body. The course is designed to give students a general understanding of their bodies in health and disease. Principles of Biology
  • This course emphasizes common processes and structures among living things, from energy transfer to natural selection, from chemical structure to cellular structure.
Included are principles governing energetics, reproduction and development, inheritance and evolution. The use of the scientific method to conduct research and experiments will encourage students to think critically about scientific research and results. Intro to Nutrition
  • This is an introductory course in nutrition.
It presents the non-science major with the chemistry and function of all essential nutrients. It discusses current ideas and topics in nutrition, and provides an introduction to methods of scientific inquiry in nutrition research. The relationship between nutrients and disease prevention is also discussed. RVCC offers courses during the day as well as the evening on our campus in Branchburg, New Jersey.
Essential Duties:
Teach all courses assigned, submit course documents, including syllabi and final grades, as required. Provide feedback to students and record grades in a timely manner using the Learning Management System and its gradebook. Submit attendance verification and progress reports, as directed. Comply with all college policies and requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in discipline or related field from an accredited institution. Experience using technology and Learning Management Systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, video conferencing tools, and Canvas.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate degree in discipline. Prior experience teaching in discipline. 2-years of college teaching experience.
