Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic 6th-9th Grade Science Teacher to inspire curiosity and foster a love for science among middle school students. In this role, you will deliver engaging lessons across various scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, physics, and earth sciences, while integrating innovative learning technologies. Your expertise will help students develop critical thinking skills, understand complex concepts such as genetics, biochemistry, and calculus, and prepare them for future academic success. Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that cover topics such as cell biology, microbiology, organic chemistry, and geometry. Conduct laboratory experiments, dissections, and research activities to provide hands-on scientific experiences. Assess student progress through standardized testing, quizzes, projects, and formative assessments; provide timely feedback to support growth. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and instructional design to ensure consistency and quality across grade levels. Offer academic advising and mentoring to students, supporting their individual educational journeys and fostering a love for science. Prepare students for future academic pursuits by developing skills in research laboratory techniques, scientific research methods, and proofing scientific reports. Engage with parents and guardians through conferences to communicate student progress and address individual needs. Stay current with advances in science education by participating in professional development opportunities related to higher education teaching practices and special education strategies. Experience Prior classroom experience teaching middle school science or related age groups is preferred. Demonstrated expertise in a broad range of scientific disciplines including biology (molecular biology, genetics), chemistry (organic chemistry), physics (differential equations), mathematics (algebra, trigonometry), and earth sciences. Experience developing curriculum content that incorporates instructional design principles and integrates technology tools for enhanced learning outcomes. Proven ability to manage classrooms effectively while fostering a positive learning environment through behavior management techniques. Familiarity with standardized testing procedures, educational research methodologies, and library services for resource-rich instruction. Background in laboratory experience or research laboratory settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of special education needs or private school teaching environments is a plus.
