Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dynamic High School Science Teacher for the 2026/2027 to inspire curiosity and foster a love for science among students. In this role, you will deliver engaging lessons across various scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, physics, and earth sciences. Your enthusiasm for science education will help students develop critical thinking skills, scientific literacy, and a lifelong appreciation for discovery. You will create a positive classroom environment that encourages inquiry, experimentation, and collaborative learning while aligning with curriculum standards and educational best practices. Duties Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans that incorporate inquiry-based learning, hands-on experiments, and the integration of learning technology to enhance student engagement. Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate interactive activities covering topics such as cell biology, genetics, biochemistry, microbiology, organic chemistry, and physics. Develop assessments aligned with curriculum standards to evaluate student understanding through quizzes, projects, presentations, and standardized tests. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a respectful and inclusive learning environment conducive to active participation. Guide students through laboratory experiments involving dissection techniques, microscopy, molecular biology procedures, and research laboratory experiences. Provide individualized support through tutoring and mentoring to help students improve their understanding of complex scientific concepts. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development initiatives and participate in school-wide educational programs or administrative meetings. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Proven classroom experience teaching middle school science with a strong understanding of curriculum development and instructional design principles. Extensive knowledge of scientific disciplines including biology (cell biology, genetics, microbiology), chemistry (organic chemistry), physics (geometry, trigonometry), and mathematics (algebra, calculus). Familiarity with learning technology tools such as digital labs, virtual simulations, and educational software. Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering an environment of curiosity and respect. Strong communication skills to clearly convey complex scientific ideas to diverse learners. Experience with standardized testing preparation and educational assessment strategies. Ability to mentor students individually or in groups while supporting their academic growth and social-emotional development. Knowledge of special education needs is a plus. Pay:
$48,500.00 - $70,000.00 per year
