Competitive, per MTA contract (NYS Teachers' Retirement System eligible) Position Overview Mechanicville CSD is seeking a passionate, dynamic, and student-centered Science Teacher for Grades 7-12 to join our dedicated faculty. The ideal candidate will foster a stimulating learning environment that encourages scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and a lifelong love for learning. As a science teacher in our district, you will implement a rigorous curriculum aligned with the New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS), preparing students for success in both foundational sciences and NYS Regents examinations.

Key Responsibilities Instructional Excellence:

Design and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons in accordance with NYSSLS and district curriculum guidelines.

Differentiated Learning:

Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the diverse needs, interests, and abilities of all students, including ELL and IEP/504 populations.

Assessment & Data:

Utilize formative and summative assessments to track student progress, inform instruction, and prepare students thoroughly for NYS Regents exams.

Classroom Management:

Maintain a safe, respectful, and organized classroom/laboratory environment conducive to learning and scientific exploration.

Collaboration & Community:

Participate actively in professional learning communities (PLCs), department meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school-wide events. Job Qualifications A successful candidate must hold a valid New York State Professional or Initial Certification in Science (Grades 7-12) — Certification in Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, or Physics.
