PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the Southern Westchester BOCES Mission, Values, and Goals in all instruction, decisions, and actions. Identify specific student learning challenges; develop, design, and implement differentiated lessons and programs to address these challenges. Prepare student IEPS in collaboration with instructional teams. Work collaboratively with the site teams to identify needs and support students academically, socially, and emotionally. Collaborate with related-service providers and school counselors to identify and provide opportunities for students to explore academic, career, and life goals. Support students and families throughout the process of transitioning to post
  • secondary learning and vocational programs.
Collaborate with colleagues in support of students in their endeavors to engage in all academic coursework and SEL programming. Communicate with parents/guardians on a regular basis. Contribute to the planning of student support through the Child Study Team process. Participate in school community-building activities, clubs, and events. Job Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Dual New York State Secondary Special Education Certification, Biology and/or Chemistry required. Thorough understanding of Students with Disabilities and the continuum of services. Knowledge of the New York State Science Learning Standards. Knowledge and understanding of Therapeutic Special Education programs.
