The Instructor of Physics and Physical Sciences will teach a full-time load of 15 credit hours during both the fall and spring semesters, consisting of introductory physics (with laboratory) course sequences for general science majors (algebra-based), physics and engineering majors (calculus-based), as well as other courses offered by the department for non-science majors (such as Physical Science Explorations). The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Physical Sciences Department and will collect and analyze assessment data, participate in course revision and development, and engage in departmental and college activities and initiatives that support the college's mission.Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a Master's degree in Physics and a minimum of one year of college-level Physics teaching experience. All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
At least two years of experience teaching Physics at the college-level; experience teaching at a community college is desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of recent Physics-education research and experience utilizing modern, evidence-based pedagogical techniques, such as active learning, action research, and High Impact Practices (HIPs). Experience in teaching a wide range of Physics and Physical Sciences classes strongly preferred. Experience in successful utilization of classroom technology (for example, learning management systems and computer-based laboratory software) also strongly preferred.Additional Information:

Fall 2026SALARY & BENEFITS:
The starting salary is $75,170. Additional compensation with seniority steps maximize at a salary of $88,234.
