Job Description

Ursuline Academy of Cincinnati's Science Teacher plays a key role in fostering academic excellence and scientific inquiry while empowering young women to lead in an increasingly complex world. Reporting to the Principal, the Science Teacher is a ten-month employee who delivers a rigorous, forward-thinking curriculum that prepares students for college-level success and future-ready careers in STEM. The Science Teacher must be a mission-driven individual who is passionate about the value and impact of an Ursuline all-girls education and has a commitment to furthering the mission and Catholic identity of the school. As an innovative and adaptable educator, the teacher ensures that our students not only master core scientific principles but also understand the ethical and practical implications of emerging technologies and global challenges. This role requires a dynamic instructor to teach General Biology and Human Anatomy & Physiology for the 2026-2027 academic year, with the flexibility to lead other life science electives determined by student need. Key Responsibilities Student-Centered Instructional Excellence Develop and deliver a rigorous curriculum for General Biology and Anatomy & Physiology that aligns with school values. Foster future readiness by integrating modern laboratory techniques and emerging technologies in class lab work. Utilize data-driven instruction, leveraging classroom diagnostics to tailor lessons to student needs. Create a classroom environment that values the unique voice of every student, encouraging critical thinking and ethical questioning in the sciences. Treat each student with the dignity and care central to the Ursuline educational philosophy, recognizing individual strengths. Collaborative Professionalism Engage actively with faculty teams to contribute to a culture of continuous professional learning. Maintain proactive, open, and professional communication with families regarding student progress and curriculum goals.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in biology or a related field required; master's degree in education preferred.
Licensure:
Current secondary Ohio teaching license.
Technical Proficiency:
Experience with Canvas and Microsoft 365 to enhance teacher workflow and student learning.

Ability to articulate and model the values of an Ursuline education, focusing on community, integrity, and the development of the whole person.
